Battle of The Bands

7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Seven bands have been selected to compete for $2,000 in cash – First Prize $800, Second $450, Third $250, and $100 for each of the remaining four participants. The First Prize winner will also receive the potential for a headlining show in the Sherman Showcase and future consideration to open for a national performing artist at the Sherman Theater.

Goldenrod
Goldenrod is a collaboration of eccentric musicians building a funkadelic-jazz vibe for the ages. Our bluesy folk-rock sound will whisk you away to a new dimension: one of good vibes, love, and a vision of prosperity for the future and all our incredible fans.

The Blue Kush
The Blue Kush, founded and fronted by Guitar Slinger Johnny Huth, has been making waves with our energetic and vibrant performances, delivering familiar cover songs from Rockabilly, Surf, Old School Rock, and Blues to popular spots in NEPA.

Big Handsome
Big Handsome is a hard rock band formed in 2016 by Steve Seachrist and Adam Beigler in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. With the addition of guitarist Ziggy Bang in Summer 2017, the group began gigging locally and developing their own sound influenced by a wide variety of artists such as Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, Hüsker Dü, and more. After making an appearance playing on a flatbed trailer in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, the band started to gain a considerable amount of credibility in their area. Big Handsome so far has self-released one album and one EP.

Black Horizion
Black Horizon is a four piece thrash metal band from Northeastern Pennsylvania. We’ve previously opened for acts like Soulfly and Chelsea Grin. We have an album and an ep available on all streaming platforms along with a music video for the song ‘ The Traitor’. For fans of Slayer, Pantera, and Metallica.

Look Back Luna

When the band takes the stage, audiences brace themselves for an energy-infused journey that resonates long after the final chord fades. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of musical influences, Look Back Luna weaves a tapestry of sound that reflects the tastes and backgrounds of its members.

ulTRAVIOlet
ulTRAVIOlet is an indie shoegaze band from Saylorsburg PA comprised of 4 young teenagers. Their sound includes influences of slowcore, punk rock, and indie rock.

PHLT's 40th Anniversary Celebration

From its beginning as an all-volunteer grassroots organization to the current staff of four protecting almost 5,000 acres, Pocono Heritage Land Trust (PHLT) has become a force for local conservation.

What can a Frog sit on? What about a Gopher? Find out from the cat in the whimsical storybook, “Frog on a Log?” by Kes Gray & Jim Field. Eastern Monroe Public Library and Stroud Recreation want you to be able to enjoy the outdoors AND a great children’s book at the same time! Our Storywalk® is a fifteen-minute walk along Zacharias Pond Park’s woodland trail, where a storybook is posted page-by-page to enjoy.
The trail starts north of the parking lot, past the pavilion.

The Champions of Pride Awards Ceremony

The newly formed Pocono PRIDE Coalition – an outgrowth of the popular Pocono PRIDE Festival – invites all to celebrate the start of Pride Month at the first ever PRIDE Fest Kickoff and Champions of Pride Awards Ceremony to be held at Mount Airy Casino Resort on Friday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event promises to be a night of inspiration and commemoration, bringing together Pocono LGBTQ+ activists, allies and supporters from all walks of life.

The Champions of Pride Awards Ceremony will recognize the region’s stellar LGBTQ+ and Ally business owners, professionals and community leaders whose work and dedication empower and unite LGBTQ+ and allied people through their leadership, service and support.

The Pocono Pride Coalition is proud to announce this year’s inaugural 2024 awardees to be honored at the event:

  • Person of the Year: Corinne Goodwin, Executive Director and founder of Eastern PA Trans Equity Project, Person of the Year
  • Business of the Year: Camp Out Poconos
  • Ally of the Year: Mount Airy Casino Resort/Mount Airy Foundation

“This event is about celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community locally and across the entire Pocono Mountains Region,” said Benny Vukaj, Co-Founder of the Pocono PRIDE Festival and Board President of the Pocono PRIDE Coalition. “We couldn’t be prouder to welcome and honor those champions among us who foster and promote acceptance and inclusion.”

Tickets for the 21-and-over event are $20 and include light fare and musical performances by Rebel Stages, the Monroe County-based Visual and Performing Arts Center, under the direction of Brandon Hanks. A cash bar will also be available.

Levvee Loop Trail Race 5k & 10k

A Timed 5k and 10k run along the Levee Loop Trail. Raise funds for Stroud Greenways while enjoying one of our favorite greenways!
